It could be a re-match for Bracknell Town in the League Cup Final

The first finalist for the 2016/17 Bluefin Sports Hellenic League Challenge Cup has been confirmed following the first semi final on Tuesday night.

Bracknell Town and Headington Amateur’s go head to head on Thursday night at Larges Lane for the right to play Highworth Town in the final which will take place on Bank Holiday Monday 1st May.

Highworth – the side that beat Bracknell Town on the final day of the league season – defeated Brimscombe & Thrupp 3-2 after extra time with Nathan Gambling scoring in the 17th minute of added time.

Aysa Corrick scored a minute in to the match for Highworth but the Lilywhites levelled and then led 2-1 with 20 minutes to go before Ross Adams sent the tie to extra time.

The second semi final between Bracknell and Division 1 East Headington has been switched to Larges Lane with a 7.45pm kick off.

The location for the final has yet to be confirmed.
