County reveal first round draw for revamped Berks & Bucks FA Senior Cup

The draw for the revamped 2017/18 Berks & Bucks County FA Cup first round has been posted by the County FA.

The matches are yet to be scheduled on the fixture calendar – but the subtle difference this season is that the Hellenic League sides are competing for the top level trophy – the Senior Cup – rather than the secondary Senior Trophy – won last season by Bracknell Town.

We’ve covered the changes in depth here, but the change effectively see’s all ‘Trophy’ sides bumped up to an expanded ‘Cup’ competition with the possibility of a draw against MK Dons in the second round.

The current trophy holders are Maidenhead United who beat Hungerford Town in a final that was held over until pre season.

There are eight first round ties which include Bracknell and Binfield, as well as Intermediate Cup holders Woodley United following their promotion to the Hellenic Premier Division.

The first round ties are:

  • Didcot Town vs Holmer Green
  • Beaconsfield Town vs Aylesbury United
  • Bracknell Town vs Aylesbury
  • Chalfont St Peter vs Windsor
  • Woodley United vs Abingdon United
  • Flackwell Heath vs Binfield
  • Wantage Town vs Burnham
  • Highmoor Ibis vs Newport Pagnell Town

In addition there are eight byes to the the second round. These have been awarded too:

  • Slough Town
  • Thatcham Town
  • Marlow
  • Chesham United
  • Ascot United
  • Hungerford Town
  • Maidenhead United
  • MK Dons
