About Football in Berkshire

Welcome to Football in Berkshire, a site dedicated to everything about and related to football in the Royal County of Berkshire.

Berkshire has a thriving non league and local football scene, with EIGHTEEN senior men’s clubs from step 2 to 6 as well women’s teams and countless junior and Sunday football clubs competing across a variety of levels – but with one thing in common, serving the community.

Football in Berkshire is gloriously volunteer led and we want to document that on this website. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Who runs Football in Berkshire?

Football in Berkshire was setup by Darrell Freeland and Tom Canning.

Better known as TC and Dudley, the pair spent nearly 10 years running and contributing to bracknelltownfc.com and struck out on their own covering football in Bracknell and the surrounding areas.

Duds sadly passed away in 2019 and the site is now run in his memory, devoted to supporting the non league game, just like he did.

A full list of site editors and contributors can be found here.

Darrell Freeland & Tom Canning

Darrell was a hugely experienced former club secretary with a VAST knowledge of the local game and contact book to match. He knew the rule books inside out and followed football in Bracknell for over 20 years.

Tom has been watching non-league football since the age of 12 and is experienced in digital and social media. Tom watches games at all levels while travelling with work and has played locally at a (very) low standard. He now manages Binfield Ladies. Follow him on twitter @tomcanning83.

Not for profit

Football in Berkshire strictly not for profit. Any advertising you see on the site goes toward paying for web servers, digital infrastructure and the odd cup of tea on a cold Tuesday night in Burnham. Any left over money at the end of the season will be passed on to help a local club

We always pay our own entry fee’s when we go to games, we know from experience how important this is. That said, we have accepted the odd freebie when the County FA have been kind enough to offer.
