Originally founced in 1952, AFC Aldermaston played in the grounds of the Atomic Weapons Establishment (AWE) until 2021 when they moved in with nearby Thatcham Town. The Atom Men played in the Hellenic League until 1986 when they returned to the Hampshire League. A move to the Thames Valley Premier League in 2014 saw the club earn promotion back to the Hellenic in 2016 and they now compete in the Combined Counties League.
