Week four on our trip around the counties brings us to Gloucestershire’s finest non league football grounds courtesy of Ryan Butler and the guys at Severn Sport.

A number of Hellenic League grounds make the list this week as well as an Evo Stik Southern League side with a fine artificial surface.

We’ve previously had submissions from our correspondents in Kent, Hampshire and last week Northamptonshire.

A big thanks to Ryan for submitting his top five grounds, you can follow him on twitter @abaconbuttee ‏and Severn Sport @SevernSport

5 Cinder Lane, Fairford Town

You take a turn off the main road and almost get the sense you are driving up somebody’s driveway, only for a football pitch to appear on your left hand side.

Some of the brave ones park their car behind the goal but that isn’t for everyone. In the club house it leads to Spikes Diner and burger bar. In there you can watch live football on TV’s and on the big screen before the game and at half time whilst tucking in to the best burger in non-league football.

They taste like they have been sent from the gods.

4 Glevum Park, Tuffley Rovers FC

Tuffley has a little bit of everything. There are two older stands at either side of the pitch as well as the new stand in the corner behind one of the goals, thus giving a variety of seated positions to watch the game.

It had the atmosphere caused by the locals that is unlike anything you have ever seen in your life. Neil Spiller works hard to run the club and in particular on a match day but he will take time to welcome everyone into the ground and serves as a great host on behalf of the club.

3 Saw Mills, Longlevens AFC

Saw Mills is a smaller ground situated behind an Ibis Hotel. It holds a limited seating capacity but has more than enough room for fans to roam.

The main eye catching feature about Saw Mills is the hospitality provided. Ash Baker really goes out of his way to welcome everyone and ensure they are looked after individually as well as a whole.

Usually Ash hands out half time cake as baked by his wife and it honestly some of the best cake we have ever eaten.

2 The Corinium Stadium, Cirencester Town

In the summer Cirencester installed a 3g pitch and it allows for a better game of football. Every time we have been to the Corinium to see this team we have been given value for money and left wanting more.

The games are played out at a fast pace with a high technical skill level on show. With two fairly big stands on either side there is plenty of seating whilst the stadium has lots of roaming room for those who like to wander as the game unfolds.

It’s one of Severn Sport’s favourite places to watch football for sure.

1 The Meadow, Brimscombe & Thrupp FC

The Meadow is a lovely ground that is all about one thing. Vantage point. You pull into the ground and you turn right onto the car park but in front of you is a hill, at the bottom of which is the pitch but at the top of the hill is a seated stand and standing area.

Whether you there on a cold midweek evening or a hot summer Saturday it is the perfect place to see all the action unfold.
