Parking is a perennial issue for non league football clubs and none more so in Berkshire where match attendances regularly reach double figures.

It can mean at times that, for example it’s a bit of a tight squeeze to get your car in a decent spot at Larges Lane and despite and the extra parking at Hill Farm Lane, Stubbs Hill is still a country lane!

Therefore Football in Bracknell has teamed up with the town’s bus company – Courtney Buses – who have kindly come on board to support your favourite East Berkshire football website.

They have provided details on the best services to reach the ground you are headed to. And if you need to know anymore, just head over to their swish new website here.

So, here are the buses and bus stops you need to catch that’ll get you closest to the grounds around Bracknell.

Bracknell Town (Larges Lane)

Routes serving the ground: 53, 150, 151, 151A, 156, 157, 158, 162, 162A, 171, 172, 194

Ascot United (within Ascot Racecourse off Winkfield Road A330)

Routes serving the ground: 162

Bus stops serving the ground: Ascot High Street

Notes: The 162 will get you on to Ascot High Street from Bracknell. From there it’s a 20 minute walk to the football club. See the ground guide on Ascot United for details on the ground itself.

Why take the bus? Ascot has a historic high street with the race course looming large over it. Parking is limited in the town though there is a good amount of space at the club.

Berks County (Lowther Road, Wokingham)

Routes serving the ground: 122, 129

Bus stops serving the ground: Lowther Road

Notes: The 151 and 151A will get you from Bracknell to Wokingham, then it’s the 122 or 129 to get you to the Lowther Road Rec.

Binfield (Hill Farm Lane/Stubbs Lane)

Routes serving the ground: 150, 151, 151A

Bus stops serving the ground: Stag & Hounds Public House

Notes: Jump off at Stag & Hounds Pub. Hill Farm Lane is a 10 minute walk. See the ground guide here.

Holyport (Summerleaze Road)

Routes serving the ground: 8

Notes: From Bracknell get the number 53 in to Maidenhead. The number 8 will get you to Summerleaze.

Reading City and Woodley United (Scours Lane)

Routes serving the ground: 127, 128, 129

Bus stops serving the ground: Forbury Road (change for Purple 17) then Norcot Junction.

Notes: These routes will get you in to Reading from Maidenhead and Wokingham respectively. Once in town you will need Reading Buses Purple 17 to reach the ground.

Sandhurst Town (Yorktown Road)

Routes serving the ground: 194

Bus stops serving the ground: Sandhurst Library or Wellington Arms

Notes: The 194 from Bracknell Bus Station will drop you a short walk from the Fizzers ground, can’t really ask more than that!

Why take the bus? Parking is sever

Wokingham & Emmbrook (Larges Lane & Lowther Road, Wokingham)

Routes serving Lowther Road: 122, 129. For first team games see the Bracknell Town listing above.

Notes: The 151 and 151A will get you from Bracknell to Wokingham, then it’s the 122 or 129 to get you to the Lowther Road Rec.

Why take the bus? Wokingham’s Town Centre is undergoing a major redevelopment but there are still plenty of places to eat and drink before heading to the game. There are regular music nights at Emmbrook Sports and Social Club as well which forms part of the clubs ground.

Windsor and Virginia Water (Stag Meadow off St Leonards Road)

Routes serving the ground: 1016, 16A

Bus stops serving the ground: Stag Meadow

Notes: The 10 will get you in to Windsor from Bracknell and direct to the stop (Stag Meadow) outside the ground. However, it might be quicker to jump off at the Prince Albert Pub stop and walk the 10 minutes to the ground.

Why take the bus? You can’t argue that Windsor is the most scenic location on this list and well worth heading up early before the match. If you fancy a few pre match pints the 16 and 16A will help you get around town and all three routes stop outside the ground.
