Dad and I headed off to North Greenford United a few weeks ago. You’ll of course be eager to know what breweries and pubs we visited!

The closest brewery is Ealing Brewing (ealingbrewing.com) which at the time was not open before kick-off but I can now tell you they are open from 1 pm – 9 pm on a Saturday so I will have to go there when St Panteleimon play as they ground share with North Greenford.

Instead, we decided to go to Perivale Brewery (Perivale.beer). We really should have checked before we went as when we got there it was like a little industrial estate with a couple of market stalls but no beer stall that week so if you decide to check them out please call or check the website before going.

Right, so on to the pub it is to catch up with some of the Great Park Crew (@GreatParkCrew on Twitter check out their shenanigans) at The Railway Hotel (greene-king-pubs.co.uk and search for Railway Hotel.

This is a Green King pub which has been frequented by North Greenford fans for the value for money.  We met up with Mickey, Stumpy and Carlos. Mickey was drinking Greene King Icebreaker, Stumpy was having Thatchers Cider and Carlos was drinking Strongbow Dark Fruits. Dad decided to have a Peroni and me being designated driver Lemonade. The atmosphere of the pub was very good and they had a lot of screens on one side of the pub for sport (Arsenal were getting a thrashing by Man City) and the other side to serve food. They also had all the normal beers you would expect from Greene King (Love an Abbott [we won’t hold that against you Paul – Ed]) but they also had Camden Helles and Hop House 13 Lager.

We were also told about another pub nearby called The Black Horse but was told it was more expensive than the Railway. (blackhorsegreenford.co.uk). It’s a Fuller’s that also serves food.

After the match in the pub had finished on the TV we headed to the ground. We have fond memories of coming here before. Our fans drank the bottled beer dry, a fan called Cookie vanished and Hayden looked like a Cheshire cat after finding some soiled undies in a bush when fetching a ball that had gone out of play!

The clubhouse is very tidy and spacious, has a TV for sports and plenty of alcohol options to choose from. Mickey and Dad had Old Speckled Hen, Stumpy Strongbow Cider, Carlos Bulmers and me still on the Lemonade. They also had Ruddles and a variety of Lagers which if I remember rightly were a little more expensive than the ales at £4.50. I have to say the lady running the bar was very welcoming and chatty and has given me some of the information that I have included today but I apologise as I did not get her name but thanks anyway!

It was a good day out with plenty of options and as you can see below there are other things you can do if you want to make a day of it.
