We’re pleased to announce that nominations for the Elite Preparation Centre sponsored 2019 Bracknell Football Awards, celebrating the best people in the local game, are now open!

There are 12 categories open to nominations for the final awards night which will take place on Wednesday 19th June at Binfield Football Club under the watchful eye of Sky Sports News presenter Tom White.

We have also decided to split out the vote for the Player of the Season award in to a male and female category, expanding the number of categories by one

There will also be a Junior Football Award which will be chosen by Dan Sleet and Lee Simpson from EPC.

How to vote

Scroll down to the bottom of this article for the nomination form. Before you do that though, here’s what the judging panel are looking for when choosing the shortlist.

What’s the story? Tell us exactly why the person or place should be considered. We hate to get all ‘X Factor journey’ on you but the more detail you can include, the better we can argue for your nominee for the short list.

The sort of details we love to see include things like player awards, goals, clean sheets and any other significant contributions to the footballing community – obviously within the 2018/19 season.

Rules

Nominations will be open until 5pm on Wednesday 12th June 2019. Once that date has past the nominations in each category will be put before a panel of judges for a decision, the top four announced online and the winners at the awards night on Wednesday 19th June. We will accept nominations for people out of area, the only prerequisite is that the reason for nomination is that it must be because of an affiliation with a club we cover from the Bostik League and Hellenic League down to the Bracknell Sunday League. We will present certificates and a trophy to the winners.

  • You can nominate as many people as you like for each award
  • Due to difficulties in obtaining permissions under child protection laws we won’t consider any player under the age of 16 for nomination in any of the categories

So without further ado, here are the categories (and scroll to the bottom for the nomination form):

Player of the Season (Male)

Easy to explain this. Who has been the best player you’ve watched or played with locally this season?

Player of the Season (Female)

Who has been the best player you’ve watched or played with locally this season?

Young Player of the Season

As above but limited to players between the ages of 16 and 21.

Referee of the Season

It’s a cliché, but being a referee is a bit of a thankless task but the reality is we wouldn’t have a game without them. So tell us who has been a top notch referee this season.

Best website or Social Media presence

We know only too well how valuable the club or league website has become. We also understand how much time it takes keeping the darn things up to date, so tell us which website has impressed you this season! This could also be an impressive club or league social media account.

Volunteer of the Season

There wouldn’t be a football scene in Bracknell without these men and women who’s efforts go largely unsung. Whether they are managing an under 11s or jumping on a tractor to cut the grass and paint lines. We want to hear about these people!

Best photo of the Season

We have some great photographers sharing photos with us, but is there one that stands out? Are there images that we’ve not seen? Let us know – and don’t forget to include a link.

Goal of the Season

This one is only going to work if we can see video clips, so if you want to nominate a goal make sure you have a link to the video!

Manager of the Season

Some managers are volunteers. Other managers do it as a second career. It depends on the level, this award celebrates the art of managing a football team. Did your gaffer save you from relegation, did you runaway with the league or have they just helped you improve your game personally?

Best ground

Where have you been this season? Where have you played that has impressed you? Maybe it’s a non-league ground or a particularly well kept council pitch. Let us know.

Supporter of the season

Clubs supporters at this level are to be treated like gold dust. Is there one who’s followed your side home and away come rain or shine? Perhaps they’ve simply backed the team to the hilt all year.

Single outstanding contribution

Not everyone can commit a season to a club, but they can create one outstanding moment of contribution. Did a sponsor stump up for an away day coach? Was Billy’s dad out all night pushing water off the pitch?
