Details are sketchy at present, but following a direct plea to FootballinBracknell to help with bail costs we are very disappointed to report that former Bracknell Town centre back and fan favourite Stuart Hammonds has been arrested at Luton Town’s training ground.

The defender was a key cog in the Bracknell side that competed in the Ryman League in the early 2000s alongside current Slough Town managers Neil Baker and Jon Underwood.

Hammonds was pictured being bundled and handcuffed in to the back of a van at the Bedfordshire sides training ground on Thursday morning.

Gotcha….

‘Hammo’ in his role as Press & Communications officer at Luton was taking part in a stunt to help raise money for ‘Level Trust’, a charity helping to raise money for children in Luton living below the poverty line.

According to the JustGiving page setup to raise Hammonds bail money, the defender has been charged with: “Press officer, according to your occupation you are clearly just a liar. This amongst the claims that you have played a bit of football.

“I need to raise bail money to get out. Please donate and help me!! All bail money will go towards supporting children living below the poverty line in Luton.”

From the editor: We appreciate that FiB has posted a number of requests for funds of late but we hope you understand and if you are able to contribute please do.
