With the ‘Beast from the East’ and ‘Storm Emma’ ravaging the UK it’s unlikely any of us around Bracknell will get to see much football at the weekend.

The East Berks Football Alliance (EBFA) have already called off all Saturday morning football for 3rd March and we’d expect other local leagues to follow suit in good time ahead of the fixture programme.

The temperature in Bracknell is currently around the -1 degrees celsius mark and many clubs including Binfield and Bracknell Town have already postponed training and youth matches.

Rob Stevens of the Windsor Observer has posted these pictures of Windsor’s home ground Stag Meadow which was scheduled to host Virginia Water’s uhlSport Division One East clash against Didcot Town Reserves. This looks very unlikely now.

The only real possibility of football this weekend comes at 3G venues with Bracknell Town hosting Brackley Town Saints in the Hellenic Premier Division. Bracknell Town’s Larges Lane is currently snowed under with more snow forecast as this tweet illustrates. Another Hellenic Premier Division game with a chance of taking place is Oxford City Nomads’ home match against Brimscombe & Thrupp. Nomads play on Oxford City’s Marsh Lane Stadium which has a 3G pitch.

With the weather unlikely to get much better over the next two days it’s always worth checking social media to ensure the game is on before you travel.

Here’s what Maidenhead United’s ground looks like from the Advertiser.
