Hellenic League Premier Division 2018 calendar year table

As we move into 2019 we thought it would be interesting to crunch some figures and work out which club in the Hellenic League Premier Division had the best league results in 2018.

Clearly any club would rather be top of the league at the end of the season rather than a calendar year, but we still feel it’s an interesting exercise.

There were fourteen clubs who spent the entirety of 2018 in the Hellenic Premier League. They include our local clubs Binfield, Ascot United and Windsor.

Wantage Town have the best points per game average during 2018, but Brimscome & Thrupp have earned the most points. Longlevens haven’t had a great 2018 an find themselves bottom of the table.

If we take a look at all clubs who played Hellenic Premier football in 2018 we see it’s Bracknell Town who won all sixteen of their Hellenic Premier league fixtures in 2018 who sit on top of the table.

Green: Spent all of 2018 in the Hellenic Premier
Yellow: Joined Hellenic Premier for 2018/2018 season
Blue: Left the Hellenic Premier at the end of the 2017/2018 season.

Bracknell Town’s remarkable sixteen game winning streak sees the Robins top the table. It’s interesting to see how much Highworth Town fell away at the end of their successful 2017/2018 promotion season.

What do these tables mean? Very little is probably the answer. Clubs will want to finish top of the table (or out of the relegation zone) at the end of the season rather than at the end of the calendar year.
