Earlier this week, Darrell Freeland presented us with the unofficial Berkshire Hellenic Premier League table for the 2014/15 season which saw Bracknell Town come top of the tree locally.

In the interests of balance, he’s been back and worked out the preceding four seasons that Bracknell have been a Hellenic League side, including 2012/13 when the Robins were in Division 1 East and therefore ineligible for inclusion.

In short, that means Binfield have twice been Berkshire champions since season 2010/11 with Reading Town and Ascot United taking one title apiece.

2010/11

Bracknell’s first season at step 5 following relegation was overall a success following several years battling relegation at step 4 – finishing 16th overall – but not fareing quite so well in derby matches.

Robins one victory was a 1-0 win over Binfield courtesy of James Rogers at Larges Lane.

2011/12

Unfortunately a relegation season for Bracknell as they finished bottom of the league – as well as the Berkshire table – but saw an improvement in results with three wins including a double over Ascot United.

2012/13

A non-entry for Bracknell this season as we chased promotion in Hellenic League Division 1 East. There was a big hit for defending Berkshire champs Reading Town though who went from hero to zero while Binfield again took top spot.

2013/14

The Yellamen were victorious in 2014 as clinched the imaginary title on goal difference. It was a return for Bracknell as well who managed their highest finish since joining Hellenic League.

Wins for the Robins included a 4-1 at Holyport that saw them briefly – and admittedly after only two games – top the table while Newbury and Reading Town were also beaten – the latter by a terrific display from Sam Barratt.

A runners up spot for Thatcham in the league but a Berkshire Premier trophy. They were understandably delighted.
