Following the 2017/18 FA Vase Quarter Final draw on Monday afternoon we learned who Berkshire sides Bracknell Town, Windsor and Thatcham Town would face in the last eight of a remarkable season in the competition. You can see the full Quarter Final draw here.

The three sides are all Hellenic Premier Division sides meaning the league has the most sides of any step five league left in the competition in the country with the Ebac Northern League second with two representatives.

Bracknell Town have earned so far £6,975 in terms of prize money from their five wins in the competition after starting in the first round proper while Windsor are slightly ahead on £8,250 after starting in the First Qualifying Round – meaning they’ve won seven fixtures in the competition. We understand all three sides (as long as they are still at step five next season) will start in the Second Round proper in 2018/19.

With the help of the Vase prize fund details, we’ve run the numbers and worked out what each side would take home if they were to end up winning the final at Wembley – a victory that would award £30,000 to the winners while the runners up receive £20,000. Both AFC Aldermaston and Woodley United earned their money despite losing their first qualifying round ties, the Vase is different to the FA Cup and Trophy in that it provides a prize to each rounds losing side.

Here’s what all our local entrants earned in the FA Vase this season:

  • Windsor – £8,250 (What they could win: £47,875)
  • Bracknell Town – £6,975 (What they could win: £46,600)
  • Thatcham Town – £6,975 (What they could win: £46,600)
  • Sandhurst Town – £1,000
  • Binfield – £250
  • AFC Aldermaston – £175
  • Woodley United – £175

These figures are purely based on the prize fund and don’t take in to account gate receipts or money paid out in expenses. Both Aldermaston and Woodley would have paid around £160 for entry assuming they entered the FA Cup, Vase and Youth Cup meaning a tasty £15 profit.
