The 2018/19 Hellenic League Premier Division’s ever present players

While many of the headlines are awarded to those players who score the goals there’s a group of players who are reliable, steadfast and incredibly important to their teams.

These players are the ones who play week after week, from Lydney to Holmer Green, for their Hellenic League Premier Division clubs.

There are five players in the Hellenic Premier who played in every single league game for their club.

Brackley Town Saints surprised many with their excellent season and defender Harry Brock was at the heart of the side that impressed so many. The dependable Brock was awarded Saints’ “Coaches Player of the Year” at the end of the season.

Daniel Comer (Wantage Town)

Right-back Dan Comer played in every single one of Wantage’s 36 league fixtures. He managed a solitary goal for the Alfredians in the league against Fairford Town in December.

Chris Jackson (Wantage Town)

Another ever-present for Hellenic League Premier title winners Wantage Town. Jackson is Wantage Town’s captain and scored four times during the 2018/2019 season.

Matthew Jones (Virginia Water)

Goalkeeper Jones played every single one of Virginia Waters’ 36 league games during their maiden season at Step 5.

Gio Wrona of Royal Wootton Bassett Town is another player who deserves a lot of credit having started thirty-three games and come on a substitute in the other three.

And Binfield’s usually ever present captain James Knight’s run ended after he missed one game of the Moles 36 game campaign.
