The list of teams in the Isthmian League South Central was revealed in the Non-League Paper on Sunday morning. Bracknell Town will face off against some familiar foes as well as experience a few interesting trips to different places.

Staying Put (15)

The following fifteen clubs are staying in the same division. Bracknell Town will be very familiar with all of the teams having played them last season.

Bracknell Town will perhaps not relish a trip to Ware’s Wodson Park where the Robins experienced a 7-2 defeat. Although they will have happier memories of a trip to Ashford Town where a Joe Grant hat-trick saw Bracknell win by five goals to nil.

The clubs staying in the division: Ashford Town, Bedfont Sports, Chalfont St. Peter, Chipstead, FC Romania, Hanwell Town, Hertford Town, Marlow, Northwood, South Park, Tooting & Mitcham, Uxbridge, Waltham Abbey, Ware & Westfield.

New Clubs (4)

Chertsey Town

The Curfews won the Combined Counties Premier League in 2019/2020 and so find themselves in the Isthmian League. They were also victorious in the FA Vase Final at Wembley where they defeated Cray Valley Paper Mills 3-1.

Despite their wonderful success they will be looking for a new manager. The experienced Dave Anderson who is a well known figure in non-league circles having co-presented the Non League Football Show podcast has retired from his position (not for the first time).

Barking

It was quite a surprise to see Barking appear in the same division as Bracknell Town. The east-Londonders will likely spend much of the season attempting to get across London to face clubs to the west of the country’s capital. They’ve switched over from the Isthmian League North where they finished 12th out of 20.

We’ve scoured the internet and think the last time Barking were in the same division as Bracknell was in the 1998/99 season when the clubs were in the Ryman League Division Two.

Harlow Town

Like Barking, the last time Bracknell Town were in the same division as Harlow Town was the 98/99 season in Ryman League Division Two. It’s not a great omen for the Robins as Harlow finished 2nd with the Robins in 21st (of 22).

Harlow finished rock bottom of the Isthmian League Premier Division last season finishing in 22nd place (of 22).

Staines Town

A welcome local fixture for Bracknell Town supporters. It’s an easy trip on the train for fans, or a very short drive. Staines Town have had a hard time of it of late with off the pitch problems making it difficult for the club on the pitch.

Staines were a Conference South club not long ago and have fallen in the last few years. The last time that Bracknell Town were in the same division as Staines Town was in the 1988/89 season when the Robins were relegated from the Isthmian League Division One.
