We had a brief chat with Binfield Allied Counties assistant manager Mark Poole this morning ahead of Binfield’s Allied Counties Youth League South division clash with rivals Bracknell Town at Hill Farm Lane on Thursday night.

Poole talked about the ‘occassion’ that comes with any game between the sides, and gave an update on youngster Jack Rafferty who was injured in the match against Knaphill.

Poole said: “Just a quick one on Jack, he is starting his recovery now after his injury two weeks ago. We wish Jack a quick recovery and hope to see him back wearing the red of Binfield very soon. All of the players and coaching staff wish Jack the best, he’s exceptional talent and highlights ability of the young players come through at this level.

“Onto the game tomorrow. No need to really build this one up too much. We will be welcoming our local rivals and friends in what is always a big occasion at any level. We expect there to be lots of passion, both teams pushing to win and a game that we hope will show how good both local sides are in the Allied Counties.

“As I said a few weeks ago, we have high hopes on our season and for us it starts again tomorrow. We need to ensure we get our tactics right and our players play with the freedom and attitude we expect. If  they can reach the same levels of a few weeks ago, we expect a very good game from our players. Games against Bracknell always have a different feeling to it and we hope our players come out at the end with another victory to our name.”
