Binfield suffered a sixth defeat in seven games on Monday night when they were beaten 3-0 by Flackwell Heath in the Uhlsport Hellenic Premier League at Hill Farm Lane.

The Moles still sit sixth in the league, but have taken just one point from their last five league games and manager Roger Herridge (pictured) has admitted some of his players are running out of chances.

Speaking to FootballinBracknell, Herridge said about the defeat: “The early goal gave us a mountain to climb and it was a bad error by our goalkeeper. We went on to have a nervous 30 mins which just highlighted our lack of confidence at the moment and too many players went missing in that period.

“We had a great chance just before half time when Courtney Lawrence went through but he couldn’t get us back in it.

“We improved in the second period but their third goal came just as we were starting to enjoy more possession. To our credit we kept on plugging away and I thought George Lock did very well when he came on while Grant Kemp was always a threat going forward for us.”

‘A number are letting me down’

Talking about the bad run, Herridge – who’s side were top of the league after the early rounds of fixtures, didn’t hold back in his assesment of the current situation.

He said: “The squad is undoubtably a talented one and they are all good lads away from football but it’s on the pitch that a number are letting me down.

“When you are on a bad run you need players that are prepared to run through brick walls for you and it’s quite apparent that not enough of these are prepared to do that for me or the club.

“They need to be mentally stronger and well as physically , too many have gone missing on and off the pitch recently.” he continued.

The former Wokingham & Emmbrook manager said he was continuing to work toward improving the squad but that time was running out for some of his players.

He said: “I am working hard to strengthen us , you don’t need to be a rocket scientist to see our weaknesses. It’s up to the players to repay my faith in them when I signed them, some are fast running out of chances.”
