Episode nine of Berkshire Football Stories took us to the famous Bisham Abbey National Sports Centre to talk to Reading FC Women’s striker Lauren Bruton.

We were there to talk all about the Royals 2015 FA WSL 2 title winning side that Lauren was part of, and was the springboard for where the club sits today as one of the top women’s sides in the country.

Currently injured, Lauren – who is hoping to return before the end of the season – lifted the lid on some of the brilliant players she played and trained alongside, including England’s Fran Kirby, as well as making her breakthrough at Arsenal and making her debut for Phil Neville’s Lionesses.

Quite by coincidence, this podcast is out just in time for #WomensFootballWeekend when Reading welcome Bristol City to the Madejski Stadium on Sunday. There are plenty more women’s fixtures to enjoy as well. We’ve listed them all here.
