Bracknell Town’s Trip to Ardley United may have been postponed on Tuesday morning due to floodlight failure but there’s a smattering of midweek football remaining this week.

Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division

Roger Herridge takes his Binfield side up the M40 tonight where they will face Oxford City Nomads.

It was an impressive 5-0 victory for the Moles this past Saturday against a Longlevens AFC side who were beaten to the point of giving up.

Liam Ferdinand notched his 28th goal of the season but Herridge will have been delighted to see Jon Bennett, Jeff Brown and substitute Sean Moore all score along with an own goal to take the burden off Ferdinand.

It’s been a real struggle for Nomads this campaign with only three league wins in 24 matches to see them sit precariously in 16th place (third bottom).

They really could do with picking up some wins but aside from a 4-4 draw with Lydney Town last month, recent form does not suggest they will be able to hold off the Moles this evening.

Perpetua Press Hellenic Floodlit Cup

It’s déjà-vu for Michael Herbert’s Woodley United side as they travel to Royal Wootton Bassett Town for the second time in eleven days tonight.

Saturday 28th January saw the Bluefin Sports Hellenic Supplementary Cup match which United very nearly won before the home side rallied to win 2-1 after extra time.

Charlie Oakley’s strike appeared to have won the tie for Woodley before Bassett’s leading scorer Steve Robertson levelled deep into second half stoppage time and then fired home a winner to break United’s hearts.

Lot’s of positives for Herbert to take from that match and he will know his side have a chance of pulling off the upset this evening but will have to do it without new signing Matt Jones who is cup tied having played and scored for Binfield in the cup earlier this season.

Reading Invitation Challenge Cup

Berks County face Holyport tomorrow evening in the competition more commonly known as the Reading Senior Cup.

This is the sole first round match with seventeen teams in the cup and the sides are facing off for the right to host Binfield in the second round.

Nathan Baker’s side will start as clear underdogs but both teams form is patchy with a couple of good results followed by poorer results.

‘Port did beat Headington Amateurs in the league last month which is a good result and thrashed basement side Wantage Town Reserves but they also have six losses since Boxing Day.

County themselves have one win, one draw and four defeats in the six matches they have played since the start of December which makes it really hard to predict a winner.

The midweek matches this week are:

Wednesday 8th February

Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division

  • Oxford City Nomads v Binfield

Perpetua Press Hellenic League Cup

  • Royal Wootton Bassett Town v Woodley United

Thursday 9th February
