There is a derby in the Combined Counties League Division One this weekend as our two local representatives, Eversley & California and Sandhurst Town clash at the ESA Ground.

The two sides have already met twice this season with the Sandhurst coming out on top on both occasions. A win for the Fizzers at the weekend could see them climb as high as 5th in the table.

After narrow defeats in their last two games, Eversley will look to get back to the form that saw them go undefeated through November. The Boars will be playing their first match since manager Ellis Woods resigned and the club are still looking for his replacement.

Ellis Day doubtful for Sumas

In the Hellenic League Division One East Wokingham & Emmbrook entertain the league’s top side, Burnham, at Larges Lane.

The Sumas will be without Sean Woodward and Danny Blatchford who are both out injured long term, and striker Ellis Day has picked up a knock and it is doubtful as to whether he will be fit.

There is some positive news in that top scorer Jake White is back from injury and in contention for a start. Burnham sit 8 points clear at the top of the table and are currently on a run of 17 wins in 18 games in all competitions, so Wokingham will need to be at their best.

Holyport make the trip to Milton United having won 10 of their last 12 games in all competitions. A win for Port could see them climb to third in the league but Milton will be no pushovers as they sit just two points behind Holyport and have won their last two league games.

Port boast the league’s best defence and can call on two of the league’s top goal scorers with Fabian Driffill and Jonny Feaver being 2nd and 4th in respectively in the standings.

Wallingford Town play host to Chalvey Sports with the two sides level on 15 points in the league, although Chalvey have played two more games. Wally made the signing of full back Richard Jones from Aldermaston this week, with the player returning to the game after a long injury layoff.

In the Reading Senior Cup AFC Aldermaston host Cookham Dean in what will be Aldemaston’s first home game in over a month. Cookham sit top of the Thames Valley Premier League and have not lost a match in any competition in over two months.

Due to the weather of the last few weeks the Atom Men have only had one match since the end of November, so they will be looking forward to being on the pitch again.
