Fourth place Holyport meet ninth place Chalvey Sports on Tuesday night in the Uhlsport Hellenic League Division One East at Summerleaze Village (ko 7.45pm).

Port are making a decent push for automatic promotion this season while the Stabmonks are by no means out of the running.

Wokingham & Emmbrook were the visitors to Summerleaze on Saturday and held Holyport to a 1-1 draw with manager Derek Sweetman admitting his side picked up a couple of knocks.

Speaking to Football in Berkshire, Sweetman said: “We welcome Josh Lowther back into the squad for tonight’s game. One or two little niggles from the weekend also.”

Masters is expected to make his 50th appearance for the club if selected while Sweetman confirmed Jack Woodbridge was available despite his red card at the weekend – the suspension starting at the weekend.

‘I can assure you of one thing, we will be more competitive’

Visitors Chalvey are in a bit of form with two wins and a draw from their last three games but manager Matty Young acknowledged the challenge ahead for his side, referencing a heavy defeat against Sweetman’s side last season.

Young said: “I’m looking forward to tonight’s game, with 21 available we finally have a selection headache. However we will go as close to an unchanged team as possible after a hard fought win at the weekend and the draw with Wokingham.

“New signings Leon Mannion and Ben Purcell are unavailable until the weekend fixtures. We will need to be resolute tonight against an inform Holyport side while trying to cause them problems. It’s always one of the toughest games in the calendar and after last years drubbing at Summerleaze, I can assure you of one thing, we will be more competitive.”

On Monday night, Woodley United held second placed Abingdon United to a 1-1 draw despite playing much of the game with 10-men. See the round up here.
