Wokingham & Emmbrook management duo Dan Bateman and Matt Eggleston are keen to hold talks over their future with the club according to Dave Wright at the Bracknell News.

Despite a creditable 0-0 draw with Highmoor-IBIS at the weekend, the Sumas will return to Division 1 East just a season after winning it with a record of 13 points from 36 fixtures with two to play.

Speaking in Thursday’s News, Eggleston said: “We need to sit down with them and have a chat to see where we want to go, where they want to go.

“There will be a choice to make.

“Speaking to the players, it appears they are all prepared to stay, but then you don’t know.”

Wokingham will revert to using their Lowther Road ground again next season after spending the season at Henley for ground grading reasons and should the pair stay, Eggleston believes there is no reason the current squad can’t compete again in Division 1 East.

He said to Wright: “We’ve got to be honest and admit we just weren’t good enough this season; after all we have only won three games.

“But we still can’t fault any of the players for effort.

“We should easily be good enough for Division One East as we have proved in the last two years.”
