Local clubs well represented in Sunday’s Bracknell Half Marathon

Yesterday saw the 32nd running of the Bracknell Half Marathon which started and finished at South Hill Park and Duds was there to clap home 781 of the 787 runners who completed the course.

Our local football clubs were well represented with finishers ranging from fifth place to 783rd place.

  • Bracknell Town season ticket holder Ben Martin-Dye was exceptional on the day coming fifth place in 1:20:11 and earning himself the trophy for being first veteran man home

    Neal Jeffs – programme editor at Ascot United – finished in 1:27:16 which was fourteenth place

  • Former Binfield captain and Crystal Palace player Dave Woozley completed it in 1:38:59
  • Rob Yorke-Goldney who used to play for Finchampstead and Bracknell Town got around in 1:44:11
  • Bracknell Titans in the Bracknell Town & District Sunday League were represented by Robert Lemon who was 1:52:31
  • Rob Dunbar who plays for Winkfield in the Bracknell Town & District Sunday League completed in 2:02:53
  • Occasional Bracknell Town fan Alex Roberts did it in 2:03:51
  • Darren McArthur, physio at Bracknell Town came home in a time of 2:31:46
  • FC Bracknell Vets defender James Chaloner finished in 2:39:07
  • Abigail Dixon of Bracknell Town Ladies completed the course in 3:00:31
  • Danielle Jeffries and Gayle Nebbett ran together and finished together in 3:17:41 Danielle is partner to former Binfield and current Bracknell Town player Danny Wing whilst Gayle is married to Larges Lane assistant manager Stephen Nebbett

Our congratulations go to all 787 finishers but especially to those mentioned above who represented their clubs admirably.
