Tuesday afternoon saw a first day of real change for the redevelopment of Bracknell Town’s Larges Lane ground as demolition began on the wooden structures between top bar and changing room block.

Thursday 9th July will be the last ever game at Larges Lane in it’s present state when Ascot United ‘Dev’ and Bracknell Town u21s meet in the FootballinBracknell pre season tournament – but there ground will already be unrecognisable by then if pictures from the clubs facebook page are anything to go by.

Regulars at Larges Lane will be familiar with the buildings that made up the tea bar and boardroom – as well as the leaky roof and occasionally wobbly floor. Well they are no more with demolition expected to conclude today (Wednesday).

The buildings have stood for over three decades with patches and repairs keeping them working – but the clubs impressive refurbishment plans are well underway and the artificial surface expected to be ready by the end of September. Bracknell will start the season at Sandhurst Town‘s Bottom Meadow.
