There’s a big change at Binfield as manager Roger Herridge has announced Andy Silver as his new assistant manager with Silver replacing Glenn Goudie as his number two

Silver was part of the Reading Town set-up which was let down completely by the owners and committee at Scours Lane. Originally assistant, he led the side as caretaker manager before departing when the club failed to pay players agreed expenses in a move which saw the united players and management all leave.

On Goudie’s departure, Herridge said: “Unfortunately, Glenn Goudie is stepping down as my number two due to family and work commitments. I have enjoyed getting to know Glenn and working with him over the past season. I hope we can work together in the future”.

Herridge of course knows Silver well as he was goalkeeping coach at Binfield Football Club last season and commenting exclusively to Football in Bracknell, Herridge said: “I am delighted to announce Andy Silver as my new assistant manager. Andy is a proper football man who prior to being our goalkeeping coach admirably held the fort at Reading Town through their darkest days. He is a man who is well respected locally with good contacts and a good footballing brain”.

Coach

Continuing in his management team role is current first team coach Rob Wytchard with Herridge commenting “I am also delighted to confirm that Rob Wytchard will continue to be first team coach. Rob is one of the best coaches in the area, one of my best signings last season and he is somebody I have learned an awful lot from over the past twelve months”.

In addition to the above, Carl Bennett remains as first team physiotherapist whilst Pete Aulsberry is the new goalkeeping coach.

Herridge also confirmed the management structures for the Reserve team and Youth team with Ellis Woods and John Polston continuing in their respective roles so the full senior management is as follows:
