Binfield youth preparations underway for the new season

Binfield youth team led by former Tottenham Hotspur professional John Polston and assistant Mark Poole are gearing up for the new term with pre season due to start on Thursday 12th July.

The young Moles narrowly missed out on promotion from the Allied Counties Youth South division  last season and will renew acquaintances with local rivals Bracknell Town who were relegated from the Premier Division.

Pre season schedule

The Moles youth start their training sessions from Tuesday the 12th of July and every Tuesday and Thursday until the start of the season.

Tuesday’s sessions are at Forest Boys School from 7 – 8:30 and Thursday’s are at St Crispins School from 7 – 8:30.

Management team

Binfield have also confirmed the management team for the new season:

  • John Polston – Manager
  • Jim Craske – Assistant Coach
  • Mark Poole – Assistant/GK coach
  • Chris Begg – Physio

FA Youth Cup

Binfield couldn’t have been handed a trickier test in the FA Youth Cup than reigning Allied Counties Premier Champions Maidenhead United. You can see the full FA Youth Cup draw and who the Moles will face if they get through here.

‘Third time lucky’

Speaking to FiB, assistant boss Poole said: “We feel this year we can really put together a good squad and compete well in the league for the third year running.

“The last two seasons we have fallen just short of the league title, so this year we are aiming for third time lucky!”
