Wokingham & Emmbrook had a nervous wait this evening in front of the local planning committee as they waited to find out if their Lowther Road ground improvement plan had been approved.

And according to first team manager Clive McNelly the plan to approve floodlights, a covered stand and hard standing around the pitch has been approved.

The approval means that nearly two decades of nomadic existence is over for the Satsumas’ and should they win promotion back to the Hellenic Premier Division at the end of the coming season they will be able to continue to play at Lowther Road, subject to gaining the relevant ground grading.

There are some very very happy Suma’s here.
