New Binfield midfielder Liam Whyte ‘acquitted himself well’ according to Moles manager Roger Herridge on his debut for the club since moving across from Flackwell Heath.

Whyte played 85 minutes for Binfield in their 5-2 Bluefin Sports Hellenic League Challenge Cup on Saturday, and was praised by his new manager.

Herridge said: “We gave Liam a start today after his move in the week, he’s based over this way so it’s a little less travelling for him and I thought he acquitted himself really well on what was a difficult, energy sapping pitch.”

Liam Ferdinand took the headlines on the day with four goals as Binfield progressed to the fourth round where they will host Brackley Town Saints.

There was also a debut for Allied Counties striker Charlie Craske who replaced Whtye for the final minutes of the match.

Binfield have organised a friendly for Tuesday night and will make the trip to Combined Counties Division 1 side Frimley Green.
