Binfield FC manager Roger Herridge has updated on left back and captain Alex Luis’s injury suffered during the 1-1 draw at Tuffley Rovers on Saturday.

Luis – who was outstanding in the game – was escorted off the pitch after a challenge and the Moles were forced to finish the game with 10 men after using all their substitutes.

The clubs top scorer and January player of the month Liam Ferdinand opened the scoring for the Moles in the first half in Gloucestershire but the home side equalised to share the points.

Herridge though said to us that: “Alex’s injury we are hoping isn’t as bad as first thought. He hasn’t needed a hospital visit and is just swollen and sore.”

The Binfield manager also revealed Sean Moore picked up an injury during the game and both he and Luis are unlikely to be risked in the Reading Senior Cup second round tie against Holyport on Tuesday.

The pair join a growing list of injured at Hill Farm Lane which includes centre back Gary Smith while Herridge also revealed that youngster Luke Hayden was injured and Jack Broome is on holiday for Tuesday nights game.
