It’s quiet on the Ascot United front at the moment – as it was last season – but one nugget of information has been published on the clubs website with the news that Reza Soltani has been appointed as first team goalkeeping coach.
Soltani – according to the website post – works alongside the Yellamen’s head coach Jamie Tompkins at EFL Championship side Brentford coaching young goalkeepers and will deliver specialist training at all levels of the club in addition to his first team role.
Watch Reza coaching with Brentford:
First team manager Neil Richards said: ““The appointment of Reza will not only strengthen the Senior section management team, but also by providing expert goalkeeper coaching throughout the club we will also take another step in bringing the first team and youth and Junior sections closer together. We welcome Reza and wish him success at the club.”
Soltani is one of a number of appointments at the Racecourse Ground with Zak Spencer and Nathan Baker taking control of the youth team.
