Hellenic Premier Division club Ascot United have announced via their website that they are launching a feasibility study in to installing a 3G pitch at the Racecourse Ground.

If given the go ahead, the club says it would aim to have the work complete in time for the start of the 2019/20 season.

The upgrade of the clubs current pitch – located in the grounds of Ascot Racecourse would be the second such project after Bracknell Town’s Larges Lane ground was upgraded last season.

A statement on the Yellamen’s website reads: “Last year Mark Cooper chaired a committee comprising members from every Section in the Club to consider the implications of investing in a full size 3G pitch. Their conclusion was that both the club and the local community would greatly benefit from such a facility.

“As a result we have now decided to engage a specialist consultant to report on the feasibility of installing a 3G pitch at the Racecourse Ground in time for the 2019-20 season. This is an exciting development that will impact all our players and teams.”
