Woodley United Ladies player Natasha Master faced a close shave in January as she raised a fantastic amount of money for Cancer Research with a sponsored head shave.

11 years ago Natasha’s father was declared cancer free after a battle, fighting one of the highest causes of death across the world having initially being diagnosed with stage 4 cholangiocarcinoma in 2006.

Although her father never lost his hair from the chemotherapy, many others do and Natasha saw the head shave as a way to raise awareness of this disease.

Natasha has initially hoped to raise £1,000 but the total has far exceeded this with approximately £2,700 being donated.

A rightly proud Natasha said: “Overall I managed to raise £2,683.10. It was the honestly the scariest but most rewarding thing I’ve ever done. It was great to hear a lot of other people’s stories about how cancer had effected their lives and how Cancer Research UK had also helped them through it. Getting it shaved was a walk in the park in comparison to waiting for it to grow back but I would do it again in a heartbeat.”
