Hellenic League Division 1 East side Sandhurst Town are looking for a new manager after the club accepted the resignation of Luke Turkington.

The Fizzers announced Turkington’s departure on the clubs twitter account on Sunday evening and will begin the search for a new boss immediately after inviting applications.

Sandhurst are the second local Hellenic League club to face a change in management in April after Ascot United confirmed the departure of Neil Richards.

The club statement says: “Sandhurst Town can confirm they have accepted the resignation of Luke Turkington as first team manager. We would like to thank Luke for his contribution to the club and wish him all the best in his future endeavours.

“The club is inviting applications by email from suitably qualified and experienced managers with a closing date of 4th May. We’re seeking someone to contribute to the further development and progress of our first team and the club as a whole.

“Please email your application confidentially to [email protected].”

Turkington had been in charge at Bottom Meadow for two seasons after the Fizzers were transferred from the Combined Counties League to the Hellenic League Division 1 East.

He guided Sandhurst to a 4th place finish this season, an improvement on 8th place last time out winning 14, drawing 3 and losing 7 of their 24 fixtures. He also made five appearances for the Fizzers as a player this season.
