Following their elevation to the Bostik League, Bracknell Town have confirmed who will lead the Robins at step 4 for the 2018/19 season.

The club have confirmed that former manager Mark Tallentire will come back to Larges Lane as Head of Football while ex-player Gavin Smith is appointed to the role of assistant first team manager.

The big news is that player/manager Carl Davies, who took over following the departure of Jeff Lamb and Paul McGrotty last season will remain in the role as first team manager. The club have confirmed that Davies will remain as a player at Larges Lane.

Mark Tallentire’s return comes after he left his role as manager in September 2017 following a hugely successful 2016/17 season, leading the Robins to the League Cup, County Cup and Reading Senior Cup titles as well as second place in the Hellenic League Premier Division.

The Gee’s tweeted on 19th May that Smith had tendered his resignation at the club. It said: “It is with regret that we announce that Gavin Smith tendered his resignation yesterday which was accepted by the club’s chairman, We would like to take this opportunity to thank Gavin for all his efforts during a difficult season and wish him all the best for the future.”

Smith will be familiar to Robins fans old and new having been one of the star men at Larges Lane during the 2000’s under Alan Taylor while he made a playing return last season making 8 appearances and scoring 3 goals.
