Ascot United currently sit top of the Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division after a flying start to the season.
Seven wins from 12 games, two draws and three defeats mean they currently sit four points ahead of second placed Wantage Town – though at this point we should point out they have played four more games.
Still, as many clubs and supporters will be aware, getting to the top of the Hellenic Premier is no easy task and the fact the Yellamen have done it with a young side still getting used to each other, and under a new management team is impressive.
The twitter account @nonleaguecrowd has been crunching some numbers at step 5 of the English Football Pyramid and it turns out that not only do United top the Hellenic, they are second in the list of most goals scored at the equivalent level in the country.
