Hellenic League Premier Division side Reading City’s co-manager has stepped down according to a post on social media.

Andy Findlay, co-manager of the Scours Lane side with Rob Creech tweeted: “I have this afternoon taken the decision to resign my position as Joint Manager of Reading City for football and especially personal reasons. I would like to put on record my thanks to Martin Laws for his support over the last months. Good luck to the lads and Rob Creech.”

Findlay took over with Creech in the summer as the club rebranded from Highmoor Ibis having previously managed Henley Town and Bracknell Town’s development side.

City chairman Martin Laws tweeted: “Andy, it has been a pleasure working with you. From day one the professionalism and dedication has been unreal. Thank you for your support, I wish you every success and hope to see you back soon.”

The club itself released a statement on Wednesday afternoon. It says: “It is with deep regret that this afternoon we had to accept the resignation of Andy Findlay as joint First Team Manager. The club wishes to thank Andy for his energy and professionalism which has been a key part of the club moving forward. The club hopes to see Andy back in the game soon.”
