According to a post on social media on Sunday, Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division side Reading City have lost their star striker.

Mitchell Parker posted on twitter that he had left the club. He tweeted: “So as of Saturday I have left Reading City thanks for everything you’ve done for me this season and big thanks to Harry Grant who has been great as a player and friend.”

Parker is the latest departure from Scours Lane after co-manager Andy Findlay announced he was stepping down from his role last week.

City were knocked out of the Bluefin Sports Hellenic League Challenge Cup on Saturday by Division 1 East side Wokingham & Emmbrook. Parker started up front alongside Harry Grant.

Parker is currently the Hellenic Premier’s second highest scorer with 14 (16 in all competitions) behind Ascot United’s Nathan Minhas and was named in the squad of 16 for the FA’s ambassadorial trip to the Falkland Islands in November.

In the summer, Parker had initially committed himself to Bostik League side Bracknell Town but made the switch to City before a ball had been kicked.

It’s been a busy few days off the pitch in the league with Ben Sadler, the manager of Wantage Town stepping down from his own role at Alfredian Park.
