2018 was a decent calendar year for Ascot United as they went from bottom to top in the Hellenic League Premier Division and finished off the year being voted the club of the month.

It’s the second time this season the Yellamen have won the award and this time they beat Wantage Town in second and neighbour Binfield in third.

Jamie Tompkins side won six of their seven league games, drawing the other and posting 19 points from a possible 21.

At the time of writing the Yellamen top the Premier Divison following Monday nights 1-1 draw with Binfield and are level on points with Brackley Town Saints, though they have played five more games.

The Yellamen have announced Saturday’s Bluefin Sport Hellenic League Challenge Cup Quarter Final will be a ‘pay what you want’ fixture for supporters.

A post on the club website says: “The club hopes that the supporters from far and wide will flock to the ground to watch the in-form side. All spectators can watch the game for free or choose to make a donation on entry, the choice is theirs!”

Director of Football Neil Richards said “This is all about saying thank you to our fans for their support so far this season, and we are also looking to welcome all supporters to our club this weekend in what is an exciting time for Ascot United Football Club.”
