Goalkeeper Chris Rackley has announced his departure from Thatcham Town.

The FA Vase winning goalkeeper made a lengthy post on social media signalling that his time with the Kingfishers had come to an end.

Over several posts, Rackley said: “Sad to say that the time has come for me to leave Thatcham Town, it’s been a incredible five years with so many memories.

“Massive thanks to all players who I played with along the way especially the boys last year helping me to live a dream at Wembley.

“Huge thank you to all the fans who have been their to support me and all those behind the scenes at the club for their time and support. Time for a new challenge and to get back enjoying the game I love.”

The goalkeeper added the hashtag ‘free agent’ to his social media post suggesting a destination wasn’t yet lined up. Having seen him in action, he’ll certainly not be short of offers.

Rackley’s final game was a 2-1 defeat to Cirencester Town at the end of February, Paul Strudley was in goal for Saturday’s win at 2-1 win at home to Melksham Town.
