Thames Valley Premier League side Berks County are on the move again after signing a deal to play at an impressive new sports ‘hub’.

The Swords, who are celebrating their tenth anniversary, will play their first and reserve team games at the Ryiesh Green Sports Hub on Hyde End Road next season.

The Hub, which opened in 2018 features a gym, sports hall, a full size 3G pitch and grass pitches.

Posting on twitter, the clubs joint first team manager Lee Simpson said: “I believe it’s a fantastic facility and its exactly what we need to continue our development of the senior set-up with both our mens senior teams playing at “The Hub”.

“It’s another positive step forward for the club.”

Ellis Woods said: “Someone asked me the other day why I’m working with Lee and why Berks County.

“The club is young but just as ambitious as we are. These are great facilities for the club right now, let alone for where we hope to be over the next few years.”

County had been playing at the John Nike Stadium with Bracknell Leisure Centre but last year moved to Wokingham & Emmbrook’s Lowther Road. The Sumas ground is undergoing an upgrade this summer and Wokingham are due back home for next season.
