The Isthmian League have today announced a brand new format and first round draw of the Velocity Trophy.

This season there will be a group stage for all Step Four clubs. Bracknell Town have been drawn against FC Romania, Chalfont St. Peter, Marlow, Westfield and Hanwell Town.

Clubs will play each other once, with two games at home and two away. Bracknell have already confirmed that their midweek fixtures will no longer be on a Tuesday night.

If fixtures are drawn, a penalty shoot-out will take place at the end of the game with the winning team gaining an extra point.

It is currently unclear as to how many teams will qualify from each group. However, with 22 Premier League clubs entering in the next round then ten group winners would lead to a last 32.

Bracknell Town had an excellent run in the competiton defeating higher league opposition Kingstonian and Felixtowe & Walton. The Robins run was only ended in the semi-finals by AFC Hornchurch.

The full draw for this year’s competition can be found on the Isthmian League website here.
