Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division Burnham are looking for a new manager ahead of the 2020/21 season.

Just days after the Football Association revealed the league line ups for next season, Burnham – who finished a credible seventh after promotion from step 6 last summer, will need a new boss after Paul Shone announced his resignation.

Writing on Twitter, the former Flackwell Heath manager said: “I’m sad to say that I’m standing down as Burnham manager. Over the last 4 months during lockdown it’s made me realise where my time needs to be spent, with a change in work commitments I just don’t have the time it takes to manage and run a team that needs my full support.”

Shone took over the club in February 2018 with the Buckinghamshire side bottom of the Premier Division and struggling to arrest a slide in league status that began in 2015 following relegation from the Southern League Premier Division.

He was unable to save the club from relegation that season but brought about the Hellenic League Division One East title in 2018/19 and an immediate return to step 5.

Prior to the early curtailment of the season, Shone had led the club in its two most successful seasons in half a decade and were in the Quarter Finals of the Hellenic League Floodlit Cup.
