Uhlsport Hellenic League Division One East Woodley United will have a new manager in charge for the 2021/22 season after it was announced Jamie Williams was stepping down.

Williams was appointed in November 2019 to replace Jon Laugharne. He stepped up to the first team role after previously managing the clubs reserve side.

A statement on the Woodley website said: “With mutual consent Jamie Williams has stepped down as 1st team manager of Woodley United FC.

“The club thanks Jamie for this dedication and contribution in the role which was not easy with the impact of corona virus. Jamie can be pleased with the opportunities he gave to young players enabling them to make the transition from youth to adult football.”

Williams management team at Woodley included former Reading FC Women goalkeeper Rachael Laws before her move to Liverpool in the summer of 2020.

Williams appeared on episode 39 of the Berkshire Football Stories podcast which you can listen to here.
