Slough Town board confirms sale of National League South club

Vanarama National League South side Slough Town will shortly have new owners according to a statement released by the club.

The Rebels have actively been searching for new investment for sometime and revealed on Wednesday night a majority stake in the club had been sold to A23 Football Group.

A statement on the Rebels website said: “The directors of Slough Town Football Club are delighted to announce that we have accepted an offer to sell the majority shareholding of the club to A23 Football Group Ltd.

“The A23 Football Group have a number of successful businesses that operate in the football and education sectors.

“The group of professionals have a very exciting plan in bringing the club together as part of a structure to develop both on and off the pitch. In addition to this, they are fully committed in helping the club maintain National League South status for the 2023/24 season.”

Publicly available information on the Companies House website shows Ashley Smith and Tom Nutter as directors of A23 Football Group Ltd.

Slough initially joined forces with A23 in 2020, the group runs the clubs under 23 squad and has helped identify young talent for the Rebels.

    1. Taking that on board, I looked up Orchard Community Sports Ltd on Companies House. Two of the people mentioned in the clubs statement (here) – Mike Lightfoot and Kay Lathey – are listed as Directors of Orchard Community Sports Ltd. So this sounds right.
