Ascot United, Binfield and Bracknell Town are all on their travels tomorrow as action returns to the Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division following cup matches midweek.

The most confident of victory will be Ascot. Very good winners midweek over Thame United thanks to Jesse Wilson’s solitary goal, it was three league defeats before that but tomorrow they face basement side Burnham, yet to register a league point.

Burnham however, put in a very hardworking performance on Tuesday night as they lost to Bracknell Town in the Perpetua Press Hellenic Floodlit Cup eventually falling 2-0.

There’s certainly signs of improvement at The Gore and they will pick up their first points at some stage but we don’t think it will be tomorrow.

Interestingly, player availability has hit the Yellamen hard with Charlie Samuels in the middle of a seven match ban but Burnham could sneak victory if United are very depleted.

Bracknell Town travel West to face Royal Wootton Bassett Town and although Bassett sit five points above the Robins, they have played four games more.

Both sides have strikers in form and are on the back of winning runs. For the hosts, it’s three wins in a row with Steve Robertson netting four times in the last three matches.

It’s five victories in a row for Bracknell with Adam Cornell scoring five goals in that time.

‘Spice’

Added spice will be the return of TJ Bohane to Bassett whom he left at the end of August when then manager Paul Braithwaite departed the Gerrard Buxton Sports Ground, with TJ rejecting several offers to sign for the Robins.

The side most desperate to secure victory will be Binfield having lost their last five matches in all competitions. A few errors are costing the Moles here and there but they are generally competing well in even encounters, just being outdone by mistakes.

Manager Roger Herridge has strengthened the side in recent weeks.

Lydney are fairly strong at home winning six of their nine matches at Lydney Recreation Ground and they have won their last four at home so it’s a tough proposition for Binfield to end their losing streak and come away with all three points.

As much as they would like to win, we are sure that Herridge would settle for a point to stop the rot.

And the others..

Elsewhere, pace setters Thatcham Town host Highworth Town who are unbeaten in six with those the two most tipped sides for the title at the start of the season and the Kingfishers can boast Lewis Brownhill in their ranks having side him from Kidlington this past midweek.

Henley Town host Oxford City Nomads in a battle of teams at the wrong end of the table.
