Easter Monday fixtures – Dan Smith’s farewell, key Sandhurst Town and Wokingham & Emmbrook fixtures

The 2016/17 season might be in it’s final throws but there’s still plenty of action to come – including on Easter Monday with an almost full card of Uhlsport Hellenic League Division 1 East ties to be played.

It will be a bit of an emotional day for AFC Aldermaston as a superb first season back in the Hellenic League comes to an end, along with the on-field career of their goalkeeper and captain Dan Smith.

The Atomics head to Chalfont Wasps for a 3pm kick off and the chance to jump to fifth if results elsewhere go their way.

One of those matches is Sandhurst Town at home (3pm) to Bicester Town at Bottom Meadow.

Luke Turkington’s side have two games left this season and unbeaten in four, are well on course for a healthy mid-table finish in their first Hellenic League season after transferring from the Combined Counties League in the summer.

The third match featuring our local clubs see’s Wokingham & Emmbrook welcome bottom side Wantage Town Reserves to Lowther Road for their penultimate league game of the season.

The Sumas need maximum points from their final two games to catch Rayners Lane in 11th and should find Wantage at least obliging after a spectacular 10-0 defeat to Finchampstead in midweek.

Woodley United aren’t in action following their County Cup win but will host Chalfont Wasps in their final league game on Wednesday at Scours Lane.

We’ve put a calendar together for all the remaining local fixtures and cup finals, you can see it here.
