Plenty of midweek football this week as Ascot United host their first home match of the season when they welcome Burnham to the Racecourse Ground on Tuesday evening (ko 7.45pm).

The Yellamen are yet to register a point in the Uhlsport Hellenic Premier Division while visitors Burnham have a solitary point from an opening day draw with Highmoor Ibis.

That’s not to say Neil Richards side are struggling – a tough opening day fixture against Bracknell Town resulted in a 2-0 defeat and was followed by a 6-0 FA Cup win at Ringwood Town so there are goals in the side with former Windsor striker Rob Lazarczuk (pictured) the dangerman having scored three times already this season – though the 4-0 defeat at newly promoted Abingdon United on Saturday would be regarded as a set back.

Games don’t get any easier for newly promoted Woodley United – their empty goals against column will be severely tested at unbeaten Thatcham Town though they already notched up two impressive points against Flackwell Heath and landlords Highmoor Ibis. The match tonight kicks off at 7.45pm at Waterside Park.

The full Hellenic Premier Division midweek programme:

  • Abingdon United vs Brackley Town Saints
  • Ascot United vs Burnham
  • Brimscombe & Thrupp vs Wantage Town
  • Lydney Town vs Royal Wootton Bassett Town
  • Thatcham Town vs Woodley United
  • Tuffley Rovers vs Highworth Town
  • Fairford Town vs Longlevens (Wednesday)

On Monday night there was an absolute corker of a tie as Flackwell Heath came from 2-0 down at Highmoor Ibis to win 3-2. Mitch Parker scored twice for Highmoor in the first half but a 26th minute red card for Tristan Campbell meant Marcus Richardson’s side had to play over an hour with 10 men.

Liam Tack scored twice for the Heathens with Dan Burnell netting the winner.
