This weekend sees the start of the quarter finals stage of both the Bracknell Town & District Sunday League Senior and Junior Cups. In the senior competition, the one tie to be played sees FC Meta, riding high in 3rd position of the Premier Division, take on holders Morale Madrid.

In the Junior Cup, it’s top vs 3rd in Division 2 as Warfield United take on Athletico Ascot in what should prove to be an entertaining tie. Elsewhere, Ashhridge Park Royals of Division 2 play Winnersh Town, riding high in 2nd place in Division 3 – could there be an upset there!? The third tie sees Silver Birch, smarting from their County Cup exit last weekend, take on Bearwood Wanderers (both of Division 3). The remaining ties are scheduled to be played Sunday 10th and 17th December.

In the one County Cup tie scheduled to be played, Sandhurst FFC and Raglan, both of Division 1, will play for a place in the Junior Cup 4th round to be played in a fortnights time.

Top billing in the Premier Division sees Finchampstead Athletic (4th) take on William Twigg Vets (2nd). Elsewhere Bracknell Cavaliers (8th) entertain leaders Crowthorne Inn. Should Twigg win and Crowthorne Inn fail to beat Cavs, Twigg will move top. A win for Finch will see them put themselves in the mix for the title.

In Division 1 WAB (top) will look to continue their impressive winning run as they entertain Ashridge Park (8th). The other fixture in the division sees Loveman United (2nd) take on AFC Crowthorne (4th). A win for Crowthorne will see them move above Loveman into 2nd whilst a win for the home team will see them maintain their challenge with WAB for top spot.

A win for Woodley United away to Braybrooke Wanderers will see them close the gap on Warfield United at the top of Division 2 to just 1 point with Warfield in Cup action this weekend. The other fixtures in the division see Berks County (4th) play Newbold College (7th) and Bracknell Athletic (9th) play Bracknell Saint Germain (10th).

Division 3’s top fixture sees 4th placed Bracknell Corinthians travel to 8th placed Winnersh Town. A win for Corinthians will see them move into 3rd above Bearwood Wanderers and only 5-points behind leaders WAB Reserves with 2 games in hand.

Division 4 sees two hugely important fixtures to be played involving teams occupying the top 4 positions. Top team Silver Birch A take on Finchampstead Athletic A (3rd) whilst 2nd placed Bracknell Royals take on Crownwood Dukes in 3rd.

FiB correspondent Tony Hardy predicts:

  • FC Meta the first team through to the last 4 of the League’s Senior Cup
  • Warfield United, Winnersh Town and Silver Birch to win through to the Leagues Junior Cup SF
  • Crowthorne Inn to move further clear at the top of the Prem
  • Snow at Christmas!!
