Four Bracknell Town & District Sunday League teams will, this weekend, look to progress to the 4th Round of the Berks & Bucks Sunday Intermediate Cup. There will be at least one team through as Wokingham & Emmbrook TMW have been drawn against William Twigg Vets. The other two ties see FC Fernhill play Cottage Inn at home and Finchampstead Athletic host Purley. Good luck to all our team in the competition this weekend.

The two fixtures scheduled in the Premier Division sees Bracknell Cavaliers play an in-form FC Meta whilst top team Crowthorne Inn take on Morale Madrid. A win for Crowthorne will see them increase their lead at the top to 8 points whilst Meta will look to keep their challenge alive and in doing so maintain their recent good form.

The line-up for the last 4 in the League’s Junior Cup is to be completed this weekend as Newbold College take on Bracknell Saint Germain. The winners of that tie will join Woodley Saints, Bearwood Wanderers and Warfield United in the hat form the semi-final.

The top two go head-to-head in Division 1 as WAB host Loveman United in this weekend’s top fixture. WAB’s lead at the top is 10 points over Loveman who have 4 games in hand. In other fixtures 3rd placed Raglan play “draw-specialists” Berkshire All Stars whilst AFC Crowthorne (4th) travel to Hurricanes (8th). Ashridge Park v. Winkfield completes the Division’s fixtures.

The most significant fixture in Division 2 this weekend sees Woodley United (2nd) play Athletico Ascot (3rd). Woodley currently lie 1 point behind Warfield United but have played one game more and Warfield have a better goal difference by 6 over Woodley. Warfield, still unbeaten in the league, face bottom team Braybrooke Athletic but cannot afford complacency if they are to keep the chasing pack at bay. Berks County (4th) may themselves feel that they can still challenge for the title but they’ll need to beat AFC Crowthorne Reserves to stay in touch.

Both un-beaten Woodley Saints (2nd) and Bracknell Corinthians (3rd) will look to keep the pressure on WAB Reserves at the top of Division 3 but face the challenge of Winnersh Rangers and Bracknell Falcons respectively. WAB Reserves play bottom team Berkshire United. Silver Birch will look for a reverse of last week’s result against Bearwood Wanderers (County Cup) as hey play again this week in the league.

An intriguing fixture in Division 4 sees top team Silver Birch A travel to “new boys” Whitegrove Pythons, this weeks featured club. Birch head the table by 4 points ahead of Bracknell Royals in 2nd who play Bracknell Titans whilst Finchampstead Athletic A (3rd) play Bracknell Cavaliers Reserves (4th).

Featured team – Whitegrove Pythons

Though Pythons are new, joining the League just after the start of the current season, they follow the Whtegrove team that proved to have a very successful 3-years before its demise at the end of season 2016-17. The Pythons form part of a very well established and well run Junior Football club that is well respected in Bracknell and are, in fact, the club’s under 21’s team. Pythons have won two of their 8 games played to date and have more than held their own so far. Whitegrove play at Priory Fields, Warfield.
