Following the (almost!) total wipe-out of last weekend fixtures by the first of the season’s bad weather, our four teams will again this weekend attempt to make progress in the Berks & Bucks Sunday Intermediate Cup. As a reminder, there will be at least one team through as Wokingham & Emmbrook TMW have been drawn against William Twigg Vets. The other two ties see FC Fernhill play Cottage Inn at home and Finchampstead Athletic host Purley. Good luck to all our team in the competition this weekend.

Three Bracknell teams will themselves be hoping to make progress in the Berks & Bucks Sunday Junior Cup. At least one will go into the hat for the 5th round draw as Loveman United, currently 2nd in Division 1, take on Warfield United, who top Division 2 in what looks likely to be a cracking tie. Raglan, 4th in Division 1 travel to play Datchet Village.

The one fixture scheduled in the Premier Division sees Bracknell Cavaliers play an in-form FC Meta who will look to keep their challenge alive and in doing so maintain their recent good form. A win will see them move back into 3rd in the division, 6 points behind Crowthorne Inn at the top with 2 games in hand.

Top game in Division 2 sees Woodley United (2nd) play Newbold College (7th). Woodley currently lie 1 point behind Warfield United but have played one game more and Warfield have a better goal difference by 6 over Woodley. With Warfield in cup action a win for Woodley will see them take top spot. Elsewhere, Athletico Ascot (3rd) travel to Bracknell Saint Germain (10th). A win for Ascot, 4 points behind Warfield, will keep them firmly in contention.

Both un-beaten Woodley Saints (2nd) and Bracknell Corinthians (3rd) will look to keep the pressure on WAB Reserves at the top of Division 3 but face the challenge of Winnersh Rangers and Bracknell Falcons respectively. Silver Birch will look for a reverse of the recent result against Bearwood Wanderers (County Cup) as they play again this week in the league.

There’s a full schedule of fixtures in Division 4 this weekend. Top game sees Silver Birch A (top) play Crownwood Dukes (5th) whilst 2nd placed Bracknell Royals host FC Harmanswater (6th). Birch currently lead the division by 4 points but have played a game more than the Royals.

FiB correspondent Tony Hardy predicts:

  • Loveman to edge out Warfield in the County Junior Cup
  • Woodley United to go top of Division 2
  • Silver Birch A to stretch further clear at the top of Division 4
  • Better weather this weekend (hopefully!!!!)
